Game saves

Progress, notes, evidence selections, hints and completion information are saved locally in your browser to provide save-and-resume features. These saves are not sent to the membership database. They remain until you reset the game or clear site data. They do not sync across devices.

Account and billing information

The hosting sign-in service supplies an account identifier and an email address when available. The identifier links your account to membership. When billing is used, Stripe receives your email and account identifier to create a customer record. Stripe collects the customer name and billing address at Checkout for payment and sales-tax processing. Resend receives your purchase email address and membership-confirmation content when we send your contract copy.

Our billing database stores account and customer identifiers, invoice and subscription identifiers, paid-access expiry dates and processed payment-event identifiers and times. The database also stores the purchase email address, a copy of agreed terms and delivery status for membership confirmations. These support access checks, billing reconciliation, durable contract copies and protection against duplicate events. Payment entry takes place on Stripe's hosted pages; our database does not store full card numbers or security codes.

Support and security

If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any information you include. Send only what is needed to explain the problem. Hosting and payment providers may process connection, device and operational log information for service delivery and security.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views, visits and page performance so we can improve the website. Its analytics beacon does not use cookies or browser storage, and it does not read your saved game notes or membership records. Cloudflare provides aggregate reports about website usage and performance.

We also count fixed activity events such as opening the free case, starting its evidence room, solving a stage, viewing the ending, visiting membership and opening checkout. Only daily totals by event are stored. Totals older than 90 days are removed when the counter or report is next used. We do not store visitor identifiers, IP addresses, device fingerprints, game answers, notes or referral URLs in these activity totals. The activity counter uses no cookies or browser storage. It helps us improve the game journey; totals are not unique visitor counts. Owner activity is excluded when signed in. The activity script honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals.

Why information is used

Account, membership and purchase-support processing is necessary to provide the service or take steps you request before purchase. Records needed for tax and legal compliance are processed under legal obligations. Proportionate security and abuse prevention rely on legitimate interests in protecting the service and its users. We do not use game notes for advertising.

Service providers

The service uses OpenAI Sites hosting and sign-in, Cloudflare infrastructure and database storage, Stripe Managed Payments for membership payments and sales taxes, Resend for membership-confirmation emails, and Google Gmail support email. These providers handle information needed for their respective functions and may operate internationally.

See OpenAI's privacy policy, Cloudflare's privacy policy, Stripe's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy. Provider-specific processing terms and international transfer safeguards have not yet been independently verified for this service. Email us for questions about how your information is handled.

How long information is kept

Local saves remain under your browser's control. Billing records are needed while membership is active and afterward where required for tax records, refunds or disputes. Support messages are needed to resolve your request and any related dispute. Security records are needed for access integrity and investigation of incidents. Records should be deleted or anonymised once those purposes and applicable legal retention requirements end. Provider-managed data follows the relevant provider's retention practices.

Your rights

Depending on the processing and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability. Email us to make a request; we may need to verify your identity. Some records must be kept for legal reasons, so deletion is not always possible.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Explain the circumstances in your email so the request can be considered.

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. You can contact us first without losing that right.

Cookies and similar storage

The games use browser local storage for saves. Hosting sign-in and Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies needed for authentication, payments and security. We have not added advertising trackers to the game code. Clearing site data can remove progress or sign you out.

Children and automated decisions

The games have an age-14 content recommendation; adults should make paid purchases. Please do not put children's personal information into notes or support messages. Access checks automatically compare membership status and paid dates; contact support if access appears wrong.

Notice updated: 11 October 2026. Provider-specific processing and transfer review remains outstanding.
